Our Featured Photographer of the Month for May is Michael Briggs, more commonly known as Briggsy, from Michael Briggs Photography.  Briggsy lives in the beautiful Yarra Valley here in Victoria and has been in photographing weddings full time for the last 5 years.  We caught up for a quick chat last week when he popped into the showroom to pick up some albums.

Tell us a little bit about you and your style!
I’m a wedding photographer, husband to my beautiful wife Kelly, fur baby Dad to our boxer Ruby and ultra proud father to our new baby girl Quinn – born October 2018.  My photography style is a direct reflection of my personality – creative, relaxed, fun and a little romantic!

Did you always want to be a photographer?
As soon as I started taking photos, I absolutely knew that “this is what I want to do”.  I never could have dreamed that when I first started photographing weddings over 5 years ago that this would become my full time job.  Being fortunate enough to be able to give up “normal” 9-5 life is incredibly fulfilling and amazing feeling, to be supporting my family doing something I love.  I still pinch myself every day that this is actually real.

What is your best advice for new photographers
Work your arse off. If you want something enough and you’re willing to work for it – you’ll get it.

What is your favourite Seldex Product and why?
Boutique Books.  It’s the best way to tell the story of a couples wedding day and preserve it for generations to come.
