It’s been a rocky start to 2020 here in Australia between bushfires, flooding and now the Coronavirus.  We want to send our best wishes and support to anyone who is unwell as a result of the virus, or living in a high risk area, or with vulnerable family and friends.

With all the uncertainty in our industry at the moment, we know there are a lot of concerns about how our businesses will cope in the coming months.  We’ve seen great information being shared about using this time to focus on your business and we’d like to share 3 ideas to help boost your income during this difficult time without leaving your home or office.

Let’s have a look at some options!

Maximise sales using your past digital package wedding clients

Have you shot weddings in the last 12 months and sold digital packages only?  Now is the perfect time to contact those clients and offer them a wedding album at a discounted price.  Contact every client and let them know you are having a 30 day special sale on wedding albums.

Let’s have a look at what you could offer
A 10×10″ Boutique Book with a Linen, Asahi or Image cover with 10 double page spreads for $700 – printed, bound, boxed and delivered direct to your client.  This can make you a $335 profit!

Let’s add up the costs
10×10″ Boutique Book with 10 d/p spreads – $265
Album design service – $75
Shipping cost – $25
Total cost – $365

Here’s how it could work
1/.  Email your clients with the special offer.  Personally I would offer an extra incentive – maybe the 1st 10 couples to take up the offer get $50 off!   If they are interested they just need to email you a list of their favourite 30 to 40 images together with payment.
2/.  If the images are not edited you may want to give them a quick edit before you order the album online and upload your images.
3/.   Review your design – your album design will be ready for review within 2 to 4 business days.  We will send either you, or your customer, a link to review the design online and you will be able to add notes to pages if changes are needed.  Album reviews are free and you can have as many as you like until you are 100% happy with your design.  Once the album has been approved we will produce your album.
4/.  Save yourself some time and have us directly dropship the album to your client.  This will be done in plain packaging without any invoicing attached.

If 5 of your past clients took up this offer you would make a $1825 profit with very minimal work without having to leave your desk or house!  If 10 clients took it up that’s a $3650 profit!

Maximise sales on your past digital package portrait clients

How many digital packages have your sold in the last 12 months?  Or what about mini sessions who didn’t order printed products?  You can have a sale using a variety of products from Albums, Folio Boxes or Wall Art or even just Printed Frame Mounts.

Here’s an option for those customers
You could offer them a 10×10″ Portrait Book with a Linen or Asahi cover with 6 double page spreads for $450 – printed, bound, boxed and delivered direct to your client.  This will make you a $235 profit!

Album design service – $40
Shipping cost – $25
Total cost – $215

Here’s how it could work
1/. Email your clients with the special offer. Personally I would offer an extra incentive – maybe the 1st 10 couples get a free 11×14″ matted print! If they are interested they just need to email you a list of their favourite 12 to 25 images together with payment.
2/. If the images are not edited you may want to give them a quick edit before you order the album online and upload your images.
3/. Review your design – your album design will be ready for review within 2 to 4 business days. Add a Wall Art option as well to the special!  A 16×20″ Framed Print costs $140 – that’s printed, mounted and ready to go!  If they add it to the album for an additional $250 then that’s another $90 in profit to your bottom line.

What about parents of past brides and grooms?

Let’s not forget the parents of past wedding clients!  The wedding is all done, the bride and groom have their beautiful album but have you thought about offering the parents a mini version of their son or daughter’s wedding album?  You’ve already done all the hard work including the album design so maximise on that.

Try our duplicate mini parent albums
You could offer them a 6×6″ or 7×5″ duplicate Mini Parent album, with the same amount of pages as their child’s album for $250 – printed, bound, boxed and delivered direct to your client.  This gives you a $115 profit per album!

6×6″ or 7×5″ duplicate Mini Parent album with up to20 d/p spreads – $110
Shipping cost – $25
Total cost – $135

We don’t normally offer these when they are ordered separately from the main album but to help increase your sales they will be available independently until June.

Here’s how it could work –
1/. Email your clients with the special offer and ask them to pass it onto their parents – or even better email the parents directly if you have their details.
2/.  Order your Mini Parent albums here online
3/.  Save yourself some time and have us directly dropship the album to your client. This will be done in plain packaging without any invoicing attached.

If 1 parent out of your last 20 weddings takes up the offer you would make a $2300 profit with very minimal work since the album design has already been done! If both sets of parents took it up that’s an additional $4600 in income.

Get a 7×5″ free voucher on us!

Lastly, if you do get orders for any of the above ideas then add in a voucher for their next session and we will print it and include it in their package free of charge!

Create a 7×5″ voucher and when you place your order note in the comments section – PLEASE ADD FREE VOUCHER – and upload the voucher with your files.  We will print it and send it to your client.  Hopefully this will help get more clients in your door when this is all over.  And it will be over – we just need to stay afloat until then!

COVID-19 and Seldex

As the global COVID-19 public health emergency continues to spread and create challenges for families and businesses worldwide the health and safety of our customers, their clients and our staff alike, remains our highest priority.

We are closely monitoring developments and will continue to be guided by the advice and directions of the Australian Government & Victoria Health. We are taking appropriate steps to protect our community by following the protocols of hygiene in our office and factory each day.

Seldex remains open at this time and we will continue to manufacture and ship within our turnaround times.  We hold a large amount of raw stock at all times so we do not foresee any delays in production.  Our premises is large enough to ensure our team maintain their “social distance” from one another and those that can work from home are being encouraged to do so.
