Onwards and upwards…
It is with sadness that we announce Finao will no longer be our North American distributor as of the 28th February, 2023. After 15 years and a lot of changes within their business, and our industry, Finao has decided it is time to part ways and move forwards independently. We have appreciated Finao’s love and support for both company and our products over the years and wish them the best for their future.
That said, we are extremely excited at the opportunity this allows us and we look forward to working more closely with our North American partners directly!
So what does this mean for you?
You now have the opportunity to buy your products direct from us. Yes, you can continue to buy products you currently offer, plus you will have access to a larger product range! Finao sold a limited number of our products, and by buying direct, you will now be able to purchase our gorgeous fine art albums including our Boutique Books, Portrait Books, Journals & Guest Books as well as our frame range including our unique Arch, Pan Montage, Square Montage and Hand Torn Frames and more.
But I don’t know you! Who is Seldex and can I trust you?
Seldex is the oldest continuing manufacturer (est.1950) of professional photographic presentation products in Australia. With over 70 years experience we continue to lead the way with an innovative range of handcrafted products. Our team understands the importance of creating high quality products that are to be delivered on time, every time.
We first began distributing our products throughout North America in 2001 through Art Leather, and then from 2007 with Finao so shipping internationally is nothing new to us!
Will my order arrive quicker?
Yes! Yes! Yes! When you place your order it immediately goes into production, and will ship direct to you once ready. Previously goods have had to go via Finao in New York. All our production times are listed on individual product webpages on our website.
What about pricing? How does that work?
Buying direct from us means you will save money!
For example – the information below shows a price comparison on a couple of our products and the difference between buying direct or through Finao.

Once you register with us on our website, you will be able to log in and view all our products and their prices. Prices will be displayed in both Australian dollars and the currency of your choice – whether it be USD or Canadian etc. Please note – when the charge is placed on your credit card it will be in Australian dollars.
But what about the freight cost?
We have a flat shipping fee for all our orders which you can find on our shipping webpage – https://www.seldex.com.au/shipping-international. This price will depend on where you are located. For example customers in the USA and Canada –
- For orders under $500 there is a flat $35AUD (approx. $25USD) shipping fee
- For orders over $500 there is a flat $70AUD (approx. $50USD) shipping fee
Apart from the shipping fee there is a $15AUD (approx. $10USD) shipping surcharge that applies only on frames over 20×24” in size.
All goods are shipped from Australia via DHL. You will receive an email with tracking information once your goods have been shipped and shipping on average takes 3 days.
Are there any import or custom duties?
Australia has a free trade agreement with the USA and Canada and therefore all goods will arrive duty free. Depending on the state you live in you may have to pay sales tax (or GST) on your import, just the same as if you purchased it within your country.
What if I have questions and need to chat with someone?
Ok, this is the only downside with working with someone on the other side of the world – the time difference!
